When I first saw “Alice in Wonderland,” I didn't get all the 1960s drug references, which may or may not be true. I just remember thinking that the movie was really magical (and long) and like most little kids, I wanted a place like wonderland where I could drink magic potions and grow and shrink, and have tea parties – though I don't know that I'd want that creepy Cheshire Cat around because he really messed with my head.
When I saw this dresser at Anthropologie, all I could think was how much of an “Alice in Wonderland [ish]” vibe it gave off, and I absolutely fell in love.
The description says it's a handcrafted pyramid of sheesham wood, stained on the inside with a vibrant pop of kelly green. I can think of a hundred places, and uses for this thing, but at $798 with an additional $150 for shipping and handling, I just can't see myself buying it from Anthropologie's Web site, which is why I've decided to build it myself.
Now you're probably wondering if I know how to carpent...as in a carpenter is good at carpenting, therefore he knows how to carpent.
No?
Is that not how it works?
Well, my point is, if I (think) can do it, you can do it. Forget about dedicating your summer to lengthy projects that will never get done – besides, summer is too far away, and by the time it rolls around you'll have 649 more things to do. I say we all try to build our own version of the Brigitta. I'd like to have mine done by March. That gives me about four months because I'm not counting October since it's over...practically.
Come on, People! Are you with me?
I'm going to do it! Nothing will change my mind!
Unless of course I find an exact replica at Ikea for like $89.
