I've been looking for some elegant but fun bangles recently, and I started browsing Alexis Bittar's collection, and I like his stuff, I think.
See, the thing is, I feel like I've seen so many of his designs at Claire's for like $416 less. Now, this might be a shot in the dark on my part, but I'm pretty sure Bittar is not designing for the tween approved accessory hot spot.
I like his designs because they remind me of the Indian clothes my mom used to wear to dinner parties when I was a kid. They were always some shade of a stunning color with little beads and gems scattered all over.
A few months ago, I saw a few of Bittar's pieces that I really loved. They were about a dozen gold bangles, some skinny, some fat, and they looked like they'd been beaten with a little hammer. They had these molten-like dents all over, and they really were amazing. The problem is, I just can't find them anywhere. I checked all the high-end department stores, dozens of independent boutiques, I did a Google search, and I even checked Bittar's Web site.
Now, if he doesn't have them, I don't know where else to look.
In the mean time, I continue to browse through Bittar's collection, finding some pieces that are definite “Wants,” and others that are kind of “Eh."
