Safety 1st has just introduced a revolutionary new child safety seat, the Compete Air Convertible Car Seat. What makes this Complete Airseat different from the others is the new Air Protect Revolutionary Side Impact Technology, designed to protect kids in the event of a side impact crash. The technology, developed in partnership with the Crash Safety Center at Kettering University, “shields the head and immediately reduces side impact forces through the precise release of air.”

According to the Air Protect website, “Side impact collisions are among the deadliest type of collision for children, accounting for 1 in 3 child crash fatalities, nearly all of which are caused by head trauma.” An infant or young child’s head is most vulnerable to the effects of a crash. The NHTSA estimates that head injuries account for 95% of all motor vehicle injuries sustained by children.

The new seat, which will be available exclusively at Babies R Us, will retail for $249.99 .The seats are available in two color combinations, black/grey and brown/orange. Consumers can pre-order the seat to be among the first to receive one when they are available. For more information about the new technology and its benefits, please visit the Air Protect website.
