Recently, the Consumer Product Safety Commission a recall of a children’s product. If you have the recalled product, you should stop using it with your child immediately and follow the CPSC instructions for repair or replacement.

MacPherson's, of Emeryville, California, is recalling 10,000 Young Artist Easels due to a lead paint violation.  The coating on the chalkboard contains high levels of lead, which violates the federal lead paint standard.

The easel has a chalkboard surface on one side and a whiteboard on the other side.  They were sold at a variety of art supply stores for about $75 between July 2004 and June 2009.

Parents should take the easels away from their child immediately and contact MacPherson's for a replacement chalkboard panel.

If you think you have this product, please read the entire Young Artist Easels recall notice, which includes model numbers, pictures and contact information.
