Recently, the Consumer Product Safety Commission a recall of a children’s product. If you have the recalled product, you should stop using it with your child immediately and follow the CPSC instructions for repair or replacement.
Maclaren USA of South Norwalk, Connecticut, is recalling one million single and double umbrella strollers. There is a laceration and fingertip amputation risk if a child places his fingers in the hinge mechanism while the stroller is being folded or unfolded. There have been 15 reports of such incidents, with 12 reported fingertip amputations.
All Maclaren single and double strollers sold between 1999 and November 2009 are included in this recall. The strollers were sold at a variety of retailers for between $100 and $360. Parents should stop using their stroller with their child right away and contact Maclaren for a free repair kit.
