When the term "deck the halls" was first used it may have been in reference to the Alexander Ramsey House just up the street from us who live in South St. Paul. It is decorated to the nines for the season, just as Alexander Ramsey would want it. It is Victorian. It does not at all look like the Mall of America or Wal-Mart.
