Orlando Police Chief Val Demings identified 40 year Jason Rodriguez as the Orlando office building shooting suspect. Police said he was arrested and taken into custody peacefully at his mother’s home Friday afternoon.

Rodriguez opened fire in the offices of an Orlando architecture company that fired him 2½ years ago.

A SWAT team spotted him through a window at his mother's residence, Demings said. Rodriguez came out of the home without incident. He is now at police headquarters, Demings said.

One person is dead and five others were in stable condition at Orlando Regional Medical Center with gunshot wounds, police said.

About 50 employees work in the offices of the company on the eighth floor of the Gateway Center, a 16-story office building.

After the arrest, the suspect was greeted by reporters just outside the police department's doors.

"Why did you do it?" one television reporter asked.

"Because they left me to rot," Rodriguez said.

He was asked if he was angry at his employer.

"No. I'm angry," he said.
