Man shot during Lakeview street robbery

Chicago police are looking for suspect who shot and seriously wounded a man during a street robbery in Lakeview early this morning,

The victim, in his 20's,  was walking in an alley on the 3500 block of North Janssen at about 1:20 a.m. when he was approached by the gunman, according to News Affairs Officer JoAnn Taylor.

At some point, the gunman shot the victim in the stomach and took off with his wallet and other personal items, according to Taylor.

The victim is in stable condition at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center.  The gunman is described as a black male in his 20's who was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans during the robbery.
