A pregnant Chicago woman, a young Bolingbrook man, and two people from Wisconsin are among those killed in yesterday's mass shooting at Fort Hood, Texas.

Francheska Velez, 21, of Chicago was three months pregnant and had just returned from a tour of duty in Iraq.  She was due to come back to Chicago in December for her maternity leave.

Pfc. Michael Pearson, 21, of Bolingbrook joined the Army last year and was in training to be a bomb deactivation specialist.

Sgt. Amy Krueger, 29, of Kiel,  Wisconsin, joined the Army in 2001, the day after terrorist  attacks on the World Trade Center, according to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Russell Seager, 51, of Mt. Pleasant,  Wisconsin was an Army nurse practitioner.

A total of 13 people were killed and 30 others injured when an Army psychiatrist opened fire on the military base. Major Nidal Malik Hasan was a devout Muslim and allegedly opposed the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Witnesses say he shouted  "Allahu Akbar" during the shooting. The phrase is Arabic for 'God is Great!".
