Alert issued after attempted kidnapping near Illinois State University campus

Illinois State University and Normal police have issued a campus alert after an aggravated battery and attempted kidnapping near campus this week.
Police say a man grabbed a young woman as she got out of her car on the 500 block of South Fell Street around 10:45 p.m. Monday. He tried to force her back into the car but she was able to fight him off and ran to a nearby apartment building for help. Police say she suffered a minor injury.
The suspect is a white male in his late 20s to early 30s. He about 6' 0" and between 180 - 200 pounds. He has a goatee and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt. The victim also noticed that the suspect had a small scratch under his left eye.
