Below is the complete press release and list of charges against five men charged in a family child sexual abuse ring.
Five Family Members Arrested In Connection With Child Sex Crimes

Captain Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, in conjunction with Kerrick Alumbaugh, Sheriff of Lafayette County announce the arrests of five individuals as a result of a multi-jurisdictional investigation initiated by the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department and assisted by the Rural Missouri Major Case Squad, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
As a result of the investigation, the following individuals were arrested on active warrants for sex crimes perpetrated against children:
Burrell Edward Mohler Sr., 77, Independence, Missouri, Class A felony of forcible rape with a child less than 12 years old by the use of forcible compulsion - one count, Class B felony rape - two counts, Class C felony of use of a child in a sexual performance - Two counts.
Burrell Edward Mohler Jr., 53, Independence, Missouri, Class C felony of deviate sexual assault with a child less than 14 years old - one count, Class C felony use of a child in a sexual performance - Two counts.
David A. Mohler, 52, Lamoni, Iowa, Class A felony of forcible rape with a child less than 12 years old by use of forcible compulsion.
Jared Leroy Mohler, 48, Columbia, Missouri, Class A felony of forcible rape with a child less than 12 years old by use of forcible compulsion - one count, Class B felony of forcible sodomy knowingly had deviate sexual intercourse with a child less than 12 years old by use forcible compulsion - one count, Class C felony of use of a child in a sexual performance - Two counts.
Roland Neil Mohler, 47, Bates City, Missouri, Class C felony use of a child in a sexual performance.
All five individuals are being held at the Lafayette County Jail on bond.
This investigation is continuing. The Rural Missouri Major Case Squad is a multi-jurisdictional task force. Its members working on the case include the Sheriff’s Departments of Jackson, Johnson, and Pettis Counties, as well as the Odessa, Higginsville, Warrensburg, University of Central Missouri, and Sedalia Police Departments. Also assisting in the investigation is the Western Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force (WMCCTF).
The above charges for which the individuals have been arrested are mere accusations and are not evidence of guilt. Evidence in support of these charges must be presented before a court of competent jurisdiction whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
