StoryStudio Chicago is conducting a summer workshop for teens who like to write. Scheduled for June 17 - July 8, sessions are 10 am to 12:30 pm on Wednesdays. StoryStudio describes their location as a beautifully rehabbed loft in a lovely, safe neighborhood .
Instructors include Alyson Paige Warren, MFAW, who teaches at the East West University and St. Augustine College. M. Molly Backes, whose background includes teaching English in rural New Mexico, will also participate.
Workshopping gives kids a chance to share their writing and discuss what works or what might need tweaking. Weekly prompts fuel their imagination. Some work will be published, at the end of the program, in the online magazine, Cooler by the Lake.
