Mickey Mouse in South Park

South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone can once again take a bow. The show was going downhill in quality and this was especially evident last season, in the episode The China Probrem (no misspelling there), where the show made offensive references to rape scenes in different movies. Trey Parker and Matt Stone's efforts to use rape as a metaphor for "selling out" caused a backlash from the media and family members. I'm told that Trey Parker's family would not talk to him for months after the episode and although he never apologized, Mr. Parker feels he should have thought the episode through a little more.

"South Park has always crossed the line in a good way - in order to make a point," a source close to the program tells me. "But the rape episode just seemed desperate and failed to make a point at all." Many online commenters definitely agreed. Trey Parker and Matt Stone even had a falling out after the 12th season, but settled their differences and have produced one of the best seasons yet.

The first episode on Season 13, The Ring, is a hilarious commentary on the Jonas Brothers and their squeaky clean reputation. The most hilarious part of this episode is when Disney boss, Mickey Mouse, scolds the Jonas Brothers and appears as a nasty, physically violent tyrant.

The episode titled Eat, Pray, Queef, directed by Trey Parker, is the funniest South Park episode yet. The point of the episode seems to be that there is a double standard on what's considered dirty for men and women. Men who fart are considered funny and harmless, but women who queef are considered dirty and dangerous. The most hilarious part of this episode is when Terence and Phillip, the champion fart characters, find out that they have been replaced by even more ridiculous characters, the Queef Sisters. This episode is the most brilliantly written episode of any show in recent years.

This week's episode, Fishsticks, will probably not become a South Park classic. However, it still provides many laughs and shows how a stupid joke that plays on the similarity between the "d" and "s" sounds could get way out of control. This episode brilliantly uses characters such as Kanye West and Carlos Mencia.

What's next for South Park? That could be anybody's guess. Unlike last year, however, we are now actually looking forward to the future of the show.
