Hurricane Chris reps Halle Berry with the Louisiana Legislature! Yes, you heard it right, Hurricane Chris, Shreveport, Louisiana's own had his first interaction with politics.
Representative Barbara Norton presented House Resolution No. 134 that commended Hurricane Chris of Shreveport, LA for his outstanding musical accomplishments.
As if the presentation of the "award" wasn't enough; during the presentation, the State Legislature gave Hurricane Chris an opportunity to address the group. At this point in time, Hurricane thanks the audience made up of elite LA government officials, and plays a clip of his new song Halle Berry (She's Fine). It doesn't get much better than this ladies and gentlemen.
On a more serious level, it's difficult to understand why the House was recognizing Hurricane in this manner. There are many other successful and more appropriate representatives of the hip hop culture coming from Louisiana. Hurricane Chris has had 3 moderately successful singles and 1 album.
When you read the words to the Halle Berry song, it's unbelievably difficult to understand how this happened; though I'm sure this will be getting much display on evening news programs in the following days. Get ready!
