Proin for dogs is an oral prescription medication which is often used to treat the signs of canine urinary incontinence. Proin for dogs is also known as phenylpropanolamine, PPA or Propaline. Phenylpropanolamine, or PPA, is the active ingredient in Proin for dogs. Proin acts on the urethral sphincter of the dog affected with canine urinary incontinence, reducing the amount of urine leakage seen.
What to expect with Proin for dogs
Proin may take a few days to work once administration is started. If effective, Proin should reduce the amount of urine leakage seen in dogs suffering from canine urinary incontinence.
Dogs receiving Proin will need to observed closely and will need regular visits with their veterinarian to monitor the effects of the Proin.
Proin usually needs to be administered two to three times daily. Proin is available in flavored tablets of different dosage sizes (25 mg, 50 mg and 75 mg) as well as a flavored liquid medication.
