Passing by a narrow margin, and many surprised how some Representatives voted, the Health Care Bill 3962 will mean many things to many people here in Atlanta and all across this nation. Those who are uninsured are certainly looking for relief. Those who have been denied coverage through private insurance companies are certainly looking forward to coverage in that they already have medical needs.

And probably those who are here in America without the benefits of citizenship are hoping that somehow they will be covered as well. At the bottom of this article, you will be led to sites that can help you determined just who voted for and against this bill by state and then by your own representative.
Politicians are hoping to score big for their parties; and the President is hoping the passage of a law through the Senate will help him keep the promises he made to voters during his campaign speeches. Small business owners are faced with having to either close their doors, or lay off key people because they cannot make enough profit to pay both salaries and mandatory insurance converge for their employees. Elders are facing cuts in benefits – raised premiums and rationed care.

Constitutional lawyers are saying this government takeover of private enterprise and forcing the American people to purchase a commodity or go to jail (or be fined or both) is totally illegal based on the very Constitution both the President and other elected officials vowed to obey and protect. This document has served this country immensely well for several centuries is now being destroyed by those who want to join the ranks of a one world government under the auspices of the United Nations. Hillary Clinton stated some time back that she wanted to see America refer to European law rather than Constitutional law. We can all pray as she travels around the world seeing the affects of their laws that she will be more than happy to come back home to a democracy where people make their own laws.

Pro-choice promoters are determined that taxpayers should have to fit the bill for abortion on demand; while those people of faith who are Pro-Life shudder to think of the masses of pre-born babies who will not be given any rights; the most precious of all rights – the right to be born, the right to life. While the dictates of the UN and “The rights of the child” agenda is trying to dictate universal law into the United States, including freeing people who committed heinous crimes when juveniles and were sentenced to life in prison. They are also trying to force their edicts on American families and how their children should be raised. First they give us permission to kill the pre-born children that people do not want; and then take away the right to bring up our children, who are wanted, in the nurture and admonition of God.

Families see looming over them higher premiums, higher taxes, government control of too many personal aspects of their lives; and even a section in the bill that interferes with not only the doctor/patient relationship; but the child/parent relationship.

Parents want to do what is best for their children; and most of the time they know what that is. And now to see the government gaining more and more control over families is frightening. For decades now the schools under the auspices of the NEA and government control have been making a mess out of the lives of children and alienating them from their parents with socialist teachings that are in direct conflict with what children are being taught by their parents. How can socialized medicine turn out any differently? The government who foots your health care bill can dictate your health management not only in the doctor’s office; but at your dinner table.

The whole root of this matter is that this administration wants to take over what the private sector has worked hundreds of years to show a profit, hire employees, pay taxes, and provide benefits for their customers. This administration wants that profit to go into the coffers of the treasury so they can be in control of the health care dollars. This is not about providing good health care for everyone. This administration wants to control all the dollars – giving the people the crumbs that fall from the table.

They want to control all the aspects of the health care community making government employees of doctors, nurses, techs, and hospitals. Contracts will be issued to those the government controls and there will be billions made by some; while seniors are denied the basic tenets of medications to stay alive. Soon all aspects of health care will be selective.

Give pause to consider a man who was educated by the government with tax dollars - who gave out red flags daily of his disdain for the very America he served in the military – and who because of a radical belief took it upon himself to shoot his fellow comrades and the government did not take notice? They will tell you they can’t look out for everyone and that is the premise here – they won’t be able to look out for everyone while the insurance companies do based on the contract and premiums paid by their customers.

Perhaps we needed more regulations governing the insurance companies rather than running them out of business. What next home, life, car insurance? How can health care be personal with bureaucrats – “The Exchange” – making life and death decisions for families so far removed from the government? That title is enough to make one cringe. God help us all. In communist countries, you have to go to “The Exchange” for everything to be passed on by their government. Will the rationing of food be next?

Moms and Dads have seen children confused, depressed, underachieving, and even suicidal in numbers that are unprecedented in America. STD’s were practically unheard of in students a few decades ago – teen pregnancy was rare and not condoned – students were taught to not only respect their parents; but their teachers and law enforcement. The teachings they have been receiving in recent decades have empowered them beyond their maturity and ability to make good choices.

The schools are more involved in teaching diversity, political correctness, and agendas that have not achieved the goals of both parents and student; but rather have stymied them in their academic curriculum. Rather than teaching history, math, and science, they spend a lot of time teaching what should be left up to the parents. And now the government is entertaining the idea of making marijuana legal – making pot heads of thousands more - not like the drug situation now is not trouble enough.

Those who have no insurance or who are underinsured see this as another government handout to solve their own personal situations; but those who are looking more closely and deeper into this Health Care Reform, see something far different – the loss of freedom that Americans have always had in making decisions for their own lives and families. And this socialistic plan of taking from those who have and giving it to those who do not – will never work. The socialistic agenda of taking from those who work (and giving to those who do not) will only results in the same kind of government we have seen in Communist China and Communist Russia and Communist Cuba. Free enterprise produces results and productivity – Communism produces dependant beggars.

No truer words have ever been spoken than those of the late Adrian Rogers, founder of “Love Worth Finding,” when he said,

“Friend, you cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. And what one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government can’t give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody. And when half of the people get the idea they don’t have to work because the other half’s going to take care of them, and when the other half get the idea it does no good to work because somebody’s going to get what I work for. That, dear friend, is about the end of any nation.”

While American soldiers have fought and died for the freedom and democracy of other countries, we are losing our own. It will be impossible for the government to run the health care of 300,000,000 people when they can’t even run a successful flu vaccination program. It will be impossible for this program to efficiently carry out such a herculean task based on their own record of failures in the Medicare program and Veterans’ hospitals. To take a line from Jerry McGuire – the government is not only saying, “Show me the money,” they are saying “Give me the money.” Is history repeating itself? Will Americans come to know what it is like to live under a dictatorship when those at the top have it all and those at the bottom have nothing?

They are talking about cutting billions of dollars from Medicare because of fraud. They were in charge – why has this fraud been un-stoppable by them so far?  Now the herculean task before the Senate is to try and make sense of all of this and while priority number one seems for them to keep their jobs – not the interest of the American people – to please their party – and to become more powerful over the affairs of Americans than ever before in the history of this country. How can they explain that the trillion dollar bailout and stimulus has helped fund pornographic film making, artist to draw and paint propaganda artwork, and such unfathomable expenditures – while people are losing their jobs, their homes, their families and their hope? That is not the American way.

Check this link to see how your representatives voted in the House. You may want to make known your pleasure or displeasure with their vote as it affects your family – and you may want to click on the second link which will take you to your United State Senators so that you can express your desires for a change. It would be a real change for them to listen to their people and help them find real hope when families can see above the hole they are in. The American people have been sold a bill of goods. This healthcare bill, if passed, will only be the next step.

The above link will take you to the map pictured above which will show you how the states voted. Click on your state and you can see how your own individual representatives voted as well as all representatives in your state.

http://www.senate.gov/general/contact_information/senators_cfm.cfm  This site will take you to information on how to contact your senators to make sure they know how you feel; if you don’t then you will have no reason for complaint if your wishes are not carried out. You might want to remind those who are coming up for re-election next year that they were elected to carry out the wishes of the people who voted them into office and not a particular party platform. Send your message via e-mail; but also invest a stamp and envelope in your nation by sending them a real letter so they can see them pile up on their desk even if they do not read them. Send them fax as well. Every time a new flag draped coffin comes back to America, think about their sacrifice – and a few minutes, a stamp, and an envelope will seem so little.

Many times Christians feel that all is left for them is prayer – when in fact that is the greatest tool we have; and even non-believers have tried to destroy that – but as long as there are people on this earth – there will be prayer and God still hears and answers prayer – but while not scriptural – the old adage says is all. “God helps those who help themselves.”

We are fast approaching the day set aside for Thanksgiving - which has been a tradition in this country since the Pilgrims survived that first horrible year in a new and harsh land. Many of them died – but they were still thankful for all their blessings and what God had provided for them and not the Indians as the new re-written history books say.

This year on Thanksgiving as you sit around your family table take the time to really reflect on the blessings of this nation and the real possibly of one of them being in jeopardy – freedom. Think about the millions this year that may not even have a Thanksgiving dinner because they have no home and no job. Food pantries, shelters, and food lines are running low on donations as well. Give to help them out as much as you can. You cannot out give God – anything you give in His name will come back to you in ways you may not expect.

It is hard for believers to understand how non-believers can look around this beautiful world and all the majesty from sea to shining sea and be so thankful for all they behold and yet have no one to thank.
