After splitting with their record company last yer English rockers Radiohead along with fellow English rockers The Verve have created the Featured Artists Coalition. Not leaving their financial futures up to the record companies the Coalition is designed to negotiate aritist's rights when it comes to fair play and digital music rights. The coalition also hopes to fight unfair practices within the industry.
Joining Radiohead and The Verve in the coalition are Damon Gough of Badly Drawn Boy, former Take That member Robbie Williams, David Gilmour of Pink Floyd fame, DJ Paul Oakenfold, and Craig David. The bands Iron Maiden, Kaiser Chiefs, and the Klaxons are also members.
Radiohead encourages other artists, especially the newer and younger bands, to join their new coalition.
