During the eighties the music charts were filled with boy bands from both sides of the pond. In recent years some of those same boys - no longer teen idols - have re-unted to the thrills of old fans and anticipation of new ones. The latest group to join the list of returnees are The New Kids on the Block.
No longer new the boys have returned with a new album and new material. Their new album "The Block" has the same voice fans of the band will remember but with a new sound. The boys have turned in the eightiies pop sound for twenty first century pop hip-hop enlisting a little help from some of the industry's big names like Ne-Yo.
Along with a new album the New Kids on the Block have planned a new tour around the block - a world tour - that kicks off on September 18 in Toronto.
Group member Joey McIntyre said that the group will travel with a few dancers but will be dancing themselves. There are no plans to bring out the bar stools for the boys to sit and croon; on the contrary, they will be dancing up a storm while performing their old songs along side of the new.
