It all began when two young lads - Mick Jagger and Keith Richards - met in Dartford and discussed the possibility of starting a band. And the rest, they say, is history. For nearly five decades the Rolling Stones have been rocking the world and providing plenty of satisfaction. To honour the English rockers the home town of Jagger and Richards is naming streets in a new housing development after songs by the rockers.
Dartford lies in Kent 20 miles east of London. It is an ancient town that was first settled by the Romans. As youngsters Mick Jagger and Keith Richards were seen as trouble in the eyes of the English government. At least some of the officials have changed their tune because Jagger has since joined fellow English rocker Sir Paul McCartney as a musical Knight.
The new housing development will have streets with the names
Satisfaction Street
Ruby Tuesday Drive
Sympathy Street
Cloud Close
Rainbow Close
Dandelion row
Stones Avenue
Little Red Walk
There has been no word on whether the famous locals will appear to dedicate or otherwise celebrate the naming of the streets.
