On October 7 pop duo Jason and deMarco released their new album "Safe". The album is a collection of 12 songs plus two bonus tracks of fan favourites, cover tunes, and new songs. The CD also includes a DVD disc that contains the video for "This is Love" and a behind the scenes feature on making the video.
For Jason and deMarco the new album is a reflection on where they have been, a look at where they are now, and a view into where they want to go musically speaking. Whether it be a cover of "Bridge Over Troubled Water" or the U2 song "One", a fan favourite like "This is Love" or a latin rendition of the Franz Schurber piece "Ave Maria", or a new song like the original tune "Where the Sun Meets the Sea" the voices of Jason and deMarco are a perfect match for each other and the harmonies they share. There have been many duos, groups, and bands who have sounded good together over the years but it is rare to find such a match in the voices of two people who are not in the same family.
"Safe" is a bit of a departure from what fans of Jason and deMarco are used to hearing in that the new album is more laid back and acoustic allowing their voices to dominate each song. While the atmosphere of the album may be more mellow the songs are not; they are catchy pop tunes that are easy to sing along with. And certainly play over and over again.
Jason and deMarco formed a duo shortly after meeting in a west Hollywood restaurant nearly six years ago; since then they have been traveling around the country performing around 100 shows a year in any venue available from churches to festivals and clubs.
In January the duo will release their movie currently running on Showtime "We're All Angels" which is a story of their life, love, and struggles as a gay couple in a Christian world. .jpeg)
