One of the weight management drugs commonly prescribed by doctors is Orlistat (Xenical). It also goes by the name Alli... or should i say 'Alli-oooops!' ?
The drug works by blocking absorption of fats in the intestine. The problem with that is unhealthy fat consumption is only part of the cause of obesity. There is a larger cause of obesity that is not being addressed and that is the consumption of sugar and high fructose corn syrup. That, plus excessive calories will cause a rise in insulin and cause existing fat to be stored and sugars to be converted to fat. Also, sugars throw off your body's hormonal balance that will in turn affect fat metabolism.
Some of the common side effects is greasy stools; anal spotting and leaking- sometimes not felt by the victim but visible from behind; poor bowel control; intestinal gas; some drug interactions
