The charges are in for Richard McTear Jr. and he is facing murder in the first degree. There was some question as to whether he would be charged with second degree murder due to the fact that it was a domestic abuse situation. The medical examiner has determined that Emanuel Murray died as a result of being thrown out of the vehicle and on to I-275. Due to this determination, Richard McTear Jr. will most likely face the death penalty. McTear was transferred from Falkenburg Road jail and is now in Orient Road Jail without bond. hiding in Jasmine Bedwell’s home. When she entered and closed the door behind her, McTear physically attacked her, beating her and choking her. Jasmine Bedwell had visible signs of choke marks and abrasions on her neck. In addition to being choked, McTear bit Jasmine on her right bicep and shoulder. Emanuel to fall out of his seat.
At this point, Jasmine Bedwell sought help by running out of the apartment, Richard McTear took baby Emanuel and fled the scene, heading south on Interstate 275, where he threw baby Emanuel out of the car window and on to the Interstate.
