red rose mother's day flower arboretum photoThe Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Gardens will host a special Mother’s Day brunch on May 10, from 12:30 p.m. and again at 3 p.m. in Rosine Hall. If you haven’t had the pleasure of having an afternoon tea at the Arboretum, you’ll find the three-course meal delightful. Their zucchini dill soup is signature, the entrees are excellent and their desserts are divine. For more information call 214.515.6610.

On May 1st, the garden gets a spring makeover while gardeners change out the color flowerbeds with over 80,000 spring blooming annuals. This year has a butterfly theme and the grounds will be adorned with a 12’ tall flower house embellished with a dozen topiary butterflies. An 8’ vibrant butterfly will also adorn the grounds.

Take some time to wander around the estate and pop in to see the DeGolyer Estate built in 1939 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Mother’s Day weekend will include The Jazz Trio performing on the Martin Rutchik Concert Stage, Saturday, May 9 from 12 p.m. -- 4 p.m. and Sunday, May 10 from 1 p.m. -- 4 p.m.

Brunch reservations are required and the seats are filling quickly.
