Los Angeles actor Neil Patrick Harris, and his actor boyfriend, David Burtka, may not be able to marry in California, but they can become parents. The couple are going to be fathers to a baby birthed by a surrogate mother. The couple who has been together for five years is using Los Angeles company Growing Generations, a surrogacy and egg and sperm donation service for the process. This company is the same one used by married actors Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick. Their twin girls being carried by a surrogate from this company will be born in July and will join big brother James Wilke Broderick, a son born directly to the couple seven years ago.

According to the exclusive report in The Star, "After going through a rigorous screening process, “Neil and David were so relieved and excited once they were approved,” says the source. “Now they have so many surrogate profiles to go through to find the right woman to carry their child.”

“Neil and David can’t wait to hold their baby; they don’t care if it’s a boy or a girl. They just want a healthy child,” says the source."
