Heidi Montag's very blended family has now joined with Spencer Pratt's very mysterious family. It's not easy to find out who Spencer Pratt is, and you know that's how he wants it. Because if this 25 year old wants you to know something about himself, he's most likely got the paparrazzi's phone numbers on speed dial.
However, the more famous this celebrity becomes, the less likely it is he can hide from his past. Spencer William Pratt is the son of a Santa Monica general practice dentist, Dr. William Chanucey Pratt III. This was confirmed by his office receptionist who said that yes, Dr. Pratt's son is Spencer. You have to admit, both Spencer and Heidi, and even Spencer's sister, Stephanie, have beautiful teeth.
Pratt grew up in tony Pacific Palisades and attended the private, celebrity and rich kids Santa Monica high school, Crossroads. His younger sister, Stephanie, was arrested in 2006 when she was 20 for attempting to shoplift $1300 of clothes in Neiman Marcus, Honolulu, Hawaii. She had a partner in crime with her, a daughter of a Hollywood executive. Stephanie was wearing 2 stolen items of clothing and carrying 5 in her purse, but got caught before leaving the department store. The girls were also charged with 2 drug crimes. Prosecutors dropped the drug charges and Pratt pled guilty to theft. She was ordered to pay $3,000 to the Crime Victim Compensation Fund. Her mug shot can be seen here.
Stephanie has admitted drug and alcohol addiction that started in her teenns. According to Star magazine, Spencer also started using illegal drugs as a teenager and was treated in a drug rehabilitation center.
Finding out anything about Pratt's stay at home mother is very hard. This past Mother's Day, Spencer, Stephanie, Heidi and Heidi's sister Holly Montag were photographed at Spago with Spencer's grandmother, but his mother was not there. Hmmm.
When people marry it's very important for the families to get to know each other. Ideally this isn't a one time sit down dinner where both families grill each other. Especially because Heidi has a re-married mother and a re-married father as well as step-siblings. More likely, and preferably, are a series of get togethers at the homes and local venues of both families in different combinations so everyone can get to know each other naturally. This ground laying work makes future Thanksgivings, Mother's Days and Father's Days much easier to negotiate and share.
