Great Jewish Films Showing in the South Bay this week

The Silicon Valley Jewish Film Festival continues to show some great films in the South Bay. Tickets are available from Brown Paper Tickets. "Letters for Jenny" (Cartas Para Jenny)
This sensitively directed film depicts a young woman who finds the personal strength to face life's difficult choices after she discovers and finds direction in three letters written by her mother before her death.

"Beau Jeste"
"Beau Jest" is a light-hearted and charming film featuring Lainie Kazan as the Jewish mother and Seymour Cassel as the father. You can imagine what happens when, in order to please her parents, their daughter hires an actor to portray her "Jewish" doctor boyfriend.

"Praying in Her Own Voice" (Plus a Speaker)
Following the viewing of the film "Praying in Her Own Voice" the true story of the Women at the Wall, Rabbi Melanie Aron of Congregation Shir Hadash in Los Gatos will describe her own experience of praying with the Women at the Wall and moderate a panel discussion.

"Strangers"
In "Strangers", a young Israeli man meets a young woman during a chance encounter in Europe. Although neither knows much about the other, their paths cross once again in Paris, when she seeks his help during a moment of desperation.
