Lango of Prince George's County is a new foreign language immersion program for children.
This Saturday, Lango is offering free Mandarin and Spanish classes for children ages 18 months to 9 years of age in Landover, MD. The Mandarin class begins at 10:00 am, and the Spanish classes begins at noon.
Lango classes are taught using its proprietary Adventure Learning Curriculum which combines three different instructional approaches that are successful in teaching children in immersion settings.
Lango is new to the Washington DC area, but Lango began in the San Francisco Bay area at the end of 2007 after the founder traveled abroad and was impressed by the number of bilingual children he encountered. Realizing that many children in the United States were missing out a crucial component of academic and social enrichment, Lango was created to bridge that gap.
Students learn the target language through music, mental and physical challenges, culturally-based activities, and arts and crafts. Classes are taught about 90% in the target language.
If you would like to reserve a spot in the free classes, you must complete the Request More Info page on the website.
