A sizzling summer stretch of weather will continue in Portland, OR and surrounding areas 7 / 4.

Portland, OR, recorded a high temperature of 91 degrees Friday 7 / 3, well above the average high for the date (77).  For Independence Day itself, the National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory effective until 8pm.  Saturday's temperatures will likely reach the mid 90s in the larger towns of the Willamette and Columbia River Valleys and the upper 80s and lower 90s in the adjacent foothills.  If that forecast verifies, Saturday's temperatures will climb higher in Portland, OR than Eastern North Carolina - a rare summer feat!
