A dust storm helped cause a fatal crash on Interstate 80 near Fernley, NV Friday 11 / 20.

A potent Pacific storm system helped generate a fatal dust storm on Interstate 80 approximately 29 miles east of Fernley, NV Friday 11 / 20.   Nevada Highway Patrol reported the grizzly accident - which involved at least four tractor-trailers and two pickup trucks - killed one person and injured six others.  At the height of the dust storm, visibility was reported to have fallen to near zero along portions of Interstate 80 between Fernley and Lovelock, Churchill County. 

Elsewhere in Nevada's Sierra Nevada / high deserts regions, the Reno - Tahoe International Airport reported a wind gust to 71mph Friday 11 / 20.  Mountain peaks in Nevada and California's Sierra Nevada Range are receiving / will receive near blizzard conditions Friday 11 / 20 into Saturday 11 / 21.
