Coastal view from fabulous beach in the Bay Area by Veronica Cassell
This past weekend, stifling temperatures around the Bay Area caused a rush of people to flee towards the coast.  By mid-morning, roads toward Half Moon Bay were backed up for miles and miles, to the point that the journey to the coast must have taken hours.  However, the closer to the coast, the more manageable the heat became.

In Half Moon Bay, the fog was so bad at one point mid-morning, seeing became fairly difficult in the sea of gray.  However, upon looking towards the beach, the fog was not a deterrent to a multitude of Bay Area folks who could be spotted in mass on the beach and in the water swimming, surfing, and splashing around in the water.

It was marvelous to see all the people out and about this weekend as droves of people in the Bay Area sought solace outdoors and crowded the various beaches and lakes.
