Wanna sing for your supper? Well, in Culver City, karaoke is still the rage, and there are many
places around town that will enable you to sing, drink, eat and make merry. Here are a few:
Culver City Senior Center
Servicing the Culver 50+ crowd, members can do karaoke on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the Senior Center free of charge. Bring your own CDGs, or use the music generally provided by the Senior Center. Lunch is also available for a nominal price.
Backstage Bar & Grill
I’ve heard great things about this place, although I’ve not been in there myself. I prefer to sing my standards during the day when there’s sunlight. But for you night owls, it’s supposed to be quite the place. The food there is your usual appetizer fare, plus a few entrees that sound pretty palatable.
Tattle Tale
Old school bar catering to the locals. I’ve cycled past there at 6:30 in the morning, so place your bets as to who’s there at that hour. It’s a dive on the outside, but I’ve heard the drinks are strong, and the patrons are loyal.
Scarlet Lady
Another dive on Sepulveda Blvd. Blvd. just down the street from the Tattle Tale. I did have a cocktail in this place a number of years ago, and enjoyed feeling the local flavor of retro Culver City.
LA is filled with aspiring talent. If you’re serious about karaoke, and want to get a professional video made, check out the work at Garnier Productions, who filmed yours truly a few weeks ago. The process is fun, easy, and it's a great way to market yourself, or provide entertainment for your family and friends. The quality is top-notch, and makes other videos on Youtube pale by comparison. See for yourself with this video made by Garnier Productions. For more information, contact Jack at (818) 506-6428.
