Maharaji (Prem Rawat) will be bringing his Words of Peace to the Jackie Gleason Theater on Miami Beach this Saturday evening at 6:00PM. Donations are requested, but there is no admission fee. Reservations can be made on this site: Words of Peace.

Followers of Maharaji report that his Divine Light Mission, which he took over at the age of eight following his father’s death, was a very popular new spiritual movement in the Western Hemisphere about 40 years ago. In the early 1980s, the Divine Light Mission was disbanded and succeeded by the organizations Elan Vital and, in 2001, the Prem Rawat Foundation, which aspires to spread a message of peace and humanitarian aid to people around the world.

Here is an excerpt from one of Maharaji’s previous talks:

You don’t have to give up anything. You don’t have to give up your religion to find peace inside. You don’t have to give up your family to find peace inside. You don’t have to give up your job to find peace inside. You know why? Because it’s already within you.

Although Majaraji has critics such as Ex-Premie.org and Prem-Rawat – Critque, the Prem Rawat Foundation is a Better Business Bureau accredited charity and Seal Holder, meeting all 20 Standards for Charity Accountability. Also, Andrea Cagan wrote his biography Peace Is Possible: The Life and Message of Prem Rawat, in which she noted that Maharaji has “spent the last forty years inspiring millions of people” from around the world.
