Billy Mays funeral was held at St. Mary Church in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. A private burial was held after the ceremony and a viewing was held for Mays last night.
Billy Mays son, Billy Mays III said
"In the last few days, I've been trying to talk to every fan, take every story I could get and give every story I could. I want to make sure we get through this. He was loved. He still is loved."
Like all the pallbearers, Billy Mays III, wore a blue shirt and khaki pants as he helped to carry the coffin from the church. Other pallbearers included Mays' father, Billy Mays Sr., and friend and business partner Sullivan. At the end of the ceremony, the pallbearers gave a thumbs up, the Billy Mays trademark move.
Following the funeral he tweeted
"Service was nice. My dad got a standing ovation in a catholic church. Lol."
Showing just how greatly technology is changing our lives, Billy Mays III has received an outpouring of support on Twitter He even used his Dad's Twitter account, which has grown enormously in followers since his death, to reach out to fans.
May we all feel as loved as was this joyous pitchman who turned his love of people into his profession. And may we, too, find our true passion in life and share it as Billy Mays did.
