While most of Michael Jackson's family and friends remain respectfully silent, his father Joe continues to bask in the power and publicity of the situation. An abusive powerful man, he now seems to have control over all of his deceased son's affairs, including Michael's three children.
With sunglasses and hat reminiscent of Michael's hidden manner, Joe is in the spotlight, conducting interviews and promoting his own projects. Some of the things he is saying also seem as strange as some of his son's past behaviors.
For instance, his response to a question about Debbie Rowe, the biological mother of two of Michael's three children.
"Debbie Rowe has nothing to do with what we're doing."
She is the mother and sole living parent of two of those children. How can he simply exclude her from any decisions concerning them?
Regarding Michaels children, Joe said,
" We have kids back there (in the family compound), small ones like they are. They were never around other kids. They're happy."
It sounds like he has imported kids as playthings. Does he have them kept like animals in the private zoo that Michael kept for so many years?
Are these simply the ramblings of an elderly, confused man or the genuine thoughts of a deranged child abuser who passed that trait along to his offspring? Isn't it time that responsible adults take charge?
Like all children, Michael Jackson's children need responsible, nurturing parenting from competent adults. Experience has shown that Joe Jackson is not such a person. No one denies that he beat and abused his children to make them perform. So why are Michael's kids forced to live under his domain?
May all children receive the love, support and nurturance that they need and deserve. And may we all come to recognize and honor the important role that children play in our lives.
