In scenes reminiscent of when Princess Diana died, people are coming together globally to remember Michael Jackson, the King of Pop. Sunday on Jackson Street in Seattle, people will gather to break the Moonwalking record. And people continue to leave flowers and other tributes to Jackson outside the family compound.
On Monday Time magazine will publish a special commemorative issue, something that was done for to memorialize Elvis and John Kennedy. Many celebrities will share their remembrances in that issue. They include Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, Nancy Reagan, Lenny Kravitz, Jesse Jackson, Tommy Mottola, Berry Gordy, Spike Lee, Sheryl Crow, Anjelica Huston, Clive Davis, John Mayer, Al Sharpton, Peter Gabriel, Kobe Bryant, Deepok Chopra, Lance Bass and Oscar De La Hoya.
May we all recall the peace, love and joy Michael Jackson brought to the world. And may each of us recognize our ability to emulate his contribution.
