Deputy Chris Bieze tasers 72 year old Kathryn Winkfein

A 72 year old tasered seems like excessive force, especially when that 72 year old is a great-grandmother.  Apparently, the trouble started when Officer Chris Beizie asked great-grandmother Kathryn Winkfein to sign her speeding ticket.   Officer Beizie must have believed this force was necessary as he allowed the incident to be recorded on his dash camera.

Now, that video is all over the Web.  Take a look and see what you think. It appears that Winkfein does not listen to the deputy, and attempts to walk around him.   He seems to push her backwards and warns her if she doesn't step back, he'll use his taser on her.

"Go ahead and tase me," she replies.

After a few more warnings, the officer did tase her, and Winkfein can be heard on dash cam video screaming.  It seems to me that the large male officer could have exercised more loving kindness and compassion with the upset, elderly grandmother.  She also could have shown some tolerance toward the officer's situation.

In any case, we can all learn from this incident and avoid such altercations in our lives.   May we all be more tolerant and compassionate with one another and begin to manifest a world that supports the welfare of all beings.
