returns from $35,000,000 trip to International Space Station.
Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberte "performed" the first "Poetic Social Mission" in space from the International Space Station. It's a show well worth watching. This eye-opening show from space bring to light some of our most pressing environmental problems - especially our water crisis. Laliberte wore a foam clown nose for his landing on Earth after a $35 million working vacation at the International Space Station.
The Canadian billionaire arrived in Kazakhstan aboard a Russian spacecraft, along with Russian cosmonaut Gennady Padalka and American astronaut Michael Barratt. The three men took off on their mission on September 30. Laliberte is the first Canadian private space explorer, and his journey was described by Cirque du Soleil as "the first social/artistic mission in space."
Laliberte also used the trip to raise awareness about the need for safe drinking water worldwide. On Friday, Laliberte participated in an event sponsored by his One Drop foundation that took place in space and 14 cities worldwide. The event featured famous political and entertainment figures spreading a message of "water for all, all for water." He founded One Drop in 2007 to fight poverty around the world by providing widespread access to safe water.
May all people have access to clean water and the abundant resources that we all share on our tiny Spaceship Earth.
