One of my favorite things to do in the summer is enjoy a meal al fresco. It'staken long enough for the weather to warm up that we're overdue for some fresh air dining. Lucky for us, Indianapolis has some excellent choices for patio dining. Take a look at some of these choices and take some time to enjoy the sunshine and some Cheap Eats.
North Side - Muldoon's - 111 W Main St., Carmel
This place is always packed, so go early if you want to get a good seat. With live music on Thursday nights and corner patio that's out of the way yet close enough to observe it all (and catch some rays), this little Carmel pub is sure to please. Their Dublin Fish and Chips is out of this world, and my husband tells me that their Pork Tenderloin is fantastic, too. Dinner for two for under $20.
South Side - Fireside Brewhouse - 997 E County Line Rd #B, Greenwood
The service at this place is a bit iffy, but their food is good. Their patio is nice, with tables surrounding a beautiful stone fire pit and live music on most evenings. Also get dinner for two here (stay on the sandwich menu) for less than $20.
West Side - Stone Creek Dining - 2498 Futura Pkwy # 105, Plainfield
This restaurant is a little more upscale but, they have a beautiful patio. So, if you're looking for a classy night out that won't completely break the bank, give this a try. Their soup, salad, and sandwich menu is actually quite affordable.
East Side - Papa Roux - 8950 E. 10th St., Indianapolis
Papa Roux has the true feel of New Orleans. They have great lunch specials, all just $6.95 including a drink, and a punchcard! If you love authentic Cajun food, and a great deal, head over to Papa Roux. This summer, they also have a nice patio and grassy area for outdoor dining.
