Just one day after the “Britain’s Got Talent” season finale, singing sensation Susan Boyle has been hospitalized. She gained worldwide attention when she auditioned for the show singing "I Dream a Dream" from Les Miserables.

Susan Boyle was reportedly having a very difficult time with her health during the last few weeks of the show. It is an extremely demanding experience both physically and mentally for a person to take part in any type of reality television. On Sunday, she was taken by ambulance to a private clinic in London. Piers Morgan, a "Britain's Got Talent" judge, told the BBC that Boyle was feeling "physically and mentally drained" prior to her admission to the hospital for treatment of exhaustion.

On the U.K. morning program, GMTV, Piers Morgan told Kate Garraway: "I spoke to her yesterday for about half an hour and she's fine. She's gone in for some rest. She needs to get away from everyone – get away from the show, from the media, the public, and just have a bit of down time to herself." Morgan also stated: "She had too long to wait between the audition show and the final, and the pressure just builds and builds and builds. It's been crazy; she has gone from anonymity to being the most-downloaded woman in history."

Boyle is a 48 year old from Scotland that took the world by storm with her beautiful voice. The season finale aired Saturday evening and as millions of viewers watched, Susan Boyle took second place. The first place prize was awarded to the dance group “Diversity”. Close to 4 million people voted on the finalists, and “Diversity” received 24.9%, Susan earned 20.2%, and the remaining votes were dispersed among the other contestants.

Her journey is a reminder to everyone that excessive stress can affect the body both mentally and physically. While each person is unique, it is critically important to maintain a proper balance in your life. You can help your body handle stress more effectively by eating healthy, exercising regularly, and getting plenty of rest.
