The Days of '47 celebration is getting ready to kick into full gear in Utah. The celebratory events remember the state's early pioneers culminating in a state holiday and all day extraveganza of fun on July 24th.
This Friday (July 10, 2009) is The Days of 47 Family Fun Day at This Is The Place park in Salt Lake City. The FREE event includes train rides, a petting corral, pony rides, educational crafts, an art garden, a magic show, carnival games, pioneer demonstrations and more.
They'll also be holding the Mini King and Queen royalty competition from 11:00am to 4:00 pm for any child between 5 and 12 years old to win the chance to ride in the Youth Parade.
