Twilight-Headed is definitely not your average Twilight fansite. For starters, the writers of this blog, who call themselves "The League of Extraordinary Twilighters," have created their own fictional identities to help mask their true identities (they write under the pseudonyms "Spider," "Spunk," "Rain," and "Ginger"). And even their blog posts go beyond your average news reports on what Robert Pattinson had for lunch, etc. Instead they concern themselves with such weighty issues as "Creepy Merchandise!" and "'Til Death Do Us Partsen." If you prefer your Twilight news with a dash of wit and a sprinkling of sarcasm, then Twilight-Headed is the fansite for you.
Q. Because it needs to be asked: Team Edward or Team Jacob?
Team Jasper. Spank loves her some Jasprin.
I've been Team Edward all the way. However, I'm recently re-thinking my decision. My preference to making out with a warm body vs. a cold marble statue has me leaning toward Team Jacob team now. *ducking*
While I initially wrote Isle Esme I realized that's a farse because the Isle Esme I was counting on didn't really exist other than in my head. So I guess Isle Esme was in my head (my favorite part anyway). So I have to go with a scene from New Moon. When Jacob and Bella pull up to Charlie's house only to find a black Mercedes parked outside. My heart did cartwheels. Of course I knew he had to be coming back but this was poof positive and baby those pages started flipping to get to my Edward in Italy!
Wow. This changes each time I read them (I mean the TWO times I read them). Currently: Twilight: The conversation Edward and Bella have at lunch right before blood testing. I love the chess match between them. New Moon: When Bella has the Cullens vote on her becoming a vampire. Eclipse: When Edward and Bella are passing notes to each other in class. I also love hearing Jasper's story. Breaking Dawn: Emmett and his endless one-liners and Jacob's banter with Rosalie throughout the book. Let's face it, that book had a lot of hurry up and wait so it was a relief to have some comedic moments to help pass the time...
Oh, I have so many! One of my favorite moments in Twilight is when Bella says to Edward (at prom), "I'm with the vampires, of course." I just love that. And, in Breaking Dawn when Alice and Jasper return. The first time I read it I actually yelled, "Alice!" and then maybe I cried a little. Maybe.
I'm finding it increasingly difficult to separate what was in the books, vs. the Twilight movie. Therefore, I'll skip right to the last book. My favorite moment is when Bella wakes up as a vampire and goes on a hunt with Edward.
Twilight! About 18 pages in I realized what I had stumbled upon and knew I was in for a tremendous love ride and the excitement of the books to come! It was all about getting to know the characters and the Cullen family. You could really feel like you were Bella and the connection and electricity between Bella and Edward was like new love all over again. Not to mention the realization that THE perfect man does exist, in fiction anyway!
Can I say Midnight Sun? But if I have to go with what's in print *scowl* I'll say Eclipse. While I H-A-T-E-D Bella and her whole unnecessary dilemma about Edward and Jacob, I loved that we got to learn about Jasper's journey from soldier to vampire to Alice. We also learn the backstory of Rosalie which helped better understand why she's such a witch. Also, it was the only book that ACTUALLY had a good fight in it.
Twilight here too! I love seeing the love story unfold. I think it's the whole idea of the "new" relationship - watching Bella and Edward learn about each other and fall in love - it's very sweet. I always get sad when I get to the baseball game because I want to keep the whole "new love" feeling, and I know what's coming.
Again, I'll go to Breaking Dawn. Bella & Edward finally get to consummate their relationship and Bella changes from a helpless human to a kick ass vampire who ends up saving the day.
Was there any point during the screenwriting process, filming or post production where you thought to yourself, "oh no, this is going to flop, what a disaster"?
If you were ever to write a book about another character in the Twilight series (not the retelling of the series from "their perspective" but their individual story) who would you choose, and why?
Seriously, how did she write these books with three little boys? I'm always amazed when I think that Stephenie put out these amazing books while also being a mom to three children. It's extremely impressive.
Will you ever release that adult version of Breaking Dawn that you wrote for your sister, for us adults who would prefer a little more than Isle Esme fade to black?
Rosalie. To be able to be that testy and cranky all the time and get away with it? I want that power!
It would be awesome to be able to affect the moods of those around me. Imagine how easy parenting preschoolers would be?
I actually think I would like to have Edward's ability to hear thoughts. I might get sick of it after a while, but I think it would be fascinating to hear what other people are thinking.
The ability to affect the outcome of something simply by wishing it. Manipulation on crack.
Passionate, loyal and facetious.
Outgoing, Understanding, Loyal.
Fun-loving, Loyal, Honest.

In late 2008 we spent much of our time during the day cracking each other up over Twilight-related discussions on email. At some point one of us said "we should just start a blog!" Meadow (League founding member) started the ball we rolled from there to where we are today. I think ultimately we felt - at the time - that there was a void in the Twi-Community that needed to be filled by adult women who intensely love the series but also have a sense of humor about it. Oh and it cannot go without mentioning that at the time we decided to start a blog, Ginger refused to participate and said she was going to be a "silent member." Also, while Rain did not start the blog she was usually in on our email threads before and after The League was born. When Meadow retired earlier this year, Rain officially joined The League.
Find people to join forces with you that challenge you and give you the strength to keep the humor going! It MUST be fun or it won't last!
When you create a site/blog be authentic with what you bring to the table. Don't try and copy what's out there because it's already there. Be creative, and have fun.
Let yourself have fun and be true to yourself. Joining the League after Meadow's retirement wasn't easy because I put a lot of undue pressure on myself to be perfect. After I let that go and just started to be myself, it became a lot easier and way more fun.
Don't worry about trying to attract readers. Don't compromise your vision for popularity. If nothing more, do it to amuse yourselves and have fun with it.
Knowing what all those feelings actually feel like to be in love. Forwarding those lustful feelings onto ones husband, and having enough money and freedom to see the movie as many times as you want without anyone having to know!
The positive is having the life experience to relate to the story of first love and loss and how intense it feels when you are a teenager. The con is feeling the need to defend being an adult lover of the Twilight series or to be made to feel as if I am somehow emotionally stunted for loving a young adult novel.
Connecting to each other via our mutual love of Twilight as women and moms has been a positive for me. I've had so much fun with my friends (The League girls included) bonding over discussions of all things Twilight. Not to mention that we're old enough to have a glass of wine while having these discussions! I'd agree with Spank on the con. Some people just don't get why I carry my own "doll" (Pocket Edward) in the diaper bag and insist on having our picture taken together while on vacation. I mean, that's normal behavior for a mom, right?
(pros) You can drive yourself to the midnight release of Twilight Saga movies. You can actually act on the romantic feelings you get from reading the series, with your significant other. (cons) You deal with all the ignorant people out there that criticize/question your entire peer group for loving a series of "teen" books.
Nope, not at all. But somehow they seem to be doing it!
Oh absolutely ... I mean, doesn't every married woman with children own Twilight bedding for the master bedroom with matching throw pillows and an Edward silhouette wall decal with matching shower curtains? Honestly, I don't even know half of what they sell because it obviously isn't targeted to me. I will say that I have thoroughly enjoyed my Little Edward (not in an "adult toy" way, mind you).
I am not embarrassed to say that I have my own Hot Topic Frequent Buyer card...so, yeah, I bought into most of it. I do have to say I'm extremely excited that Nordstrom will be carrying New Moon merchandise. Now I won't have to walk into Hot Topic with a stroller full of toddler anymore.
Doesn't really matter. I'll probably end up buying all the merchandise anyway. *hangs head in shame*
