"Wendy Soneson is a portrait artist, who works in watercolor. Few people attempt this since watercolor is so unforgiving, and the demands of a credible likeness are so high. Yet her recent show of 40 portraits of notable Brookline Women, Inspirational Women of Brookline was a grand success, touring 6 locations over the past year. Now she is on a hunt for subjects for her next portrait show, Intriguing Women of Boston. She will highlight 30 women of Boston making a contribution in a variety of fields from education to politics. A catalogue will accompany the show, with stories about each woman. Wendy has been painting and teaching in the Boston area for 30 years, and teaches watercolor at the Brookline Arts Center. She will be happy to consult on portrait commissions.
Currently you can see her work on display on the Muddy River in an outdoor show, in the beautiful park between the Fenway and Longwood Green line, where she has an installation along with other artists in her artist group: Studios WIthout Walls.
She has two shows this summer and one in the fall, as well as the portrait show coming up in 2010." Check her website for more information.
