The Beacon Hill Art Walk will take place on Sunday June 7, 2009, from noon to 6pm, on Beacon HIll in Boston.
"... throughout the nooks and crannies of Beacon Hill. Residents open up their private gardens, alleyways, and courtyards and allow artists to display and sell their artwork. It is a chance for visitors to tour for free the private spaces of Beacon Hill while viewing original artwork. Thousands attend each year. It is a popular event in the neighborhood, with a festive atmosphere and volunteer musicians playing in various gardens throughout the day. Around 100 artists usually participate, with a variety of styles, media, and subject matter."
Different art media to be shown on the Walk includes ceramics, metal, glass, mixed media, paintings, prints, photography, and more.
The starting points of The Beacon Hill Art Walk are 135 1/2 Charles Street, and the corner of Cambridge Street & West Cedar Street.
Depending on the weather, the Walk will vary depending on rain or sun. There are two different maps that reflect the different options. Visitors can call 617-503-4141 after 8 am on Sunday June 7th to find out if "Sunny Day" or "Rainy Day" locations are in effect.
