Night World by L.J. Smith is a series produced in volumes of three stories and is young adult fiction/fantasy. In the Night World it is illegal for supernaturals to fall in love with humans, but something is happening that many of the young supernaturals are finding their soul mates in humans. The dark powers are rising and humaity is on the brink of destruction. What will these young lovers do to save humanity from the forces of darkness creeping up from the darkest shadows?

Night World is well written and engaging. Each of the stories in the series are love stories and are suitable for young teenaers as well as older teens. The stories have vampires, werewolves, and witches, but do not have horror scenes that might be unsuitable for younger teens. I give these books two thumbs up for suitablility for young adults and great writing. ♦♦♦♦♦
