Fans of the bestselling book-turned-hit movie “Julie & Julia” can experience Julia Child’s Paris with Hilton Arc de Triomphe’s new “In Julia’s Footsteps” package.
The deluxe Art Deco hotel’s two-night package includes a short course at Le Cordon Bleu – where Julia studied – and a suggested itinerary of places that the beloved chef frequented during her years in France’s capital.
Indeed Julia Child’s love affair with cooking began when she moved to Paris with her husband Paul and enrolled at Le Cordon Bleu. As part of Hilton’s package, travelers will get a taste of the prestigious culinary school by attending a one-day course of their choice,* with subjects ranging from Master Chef techniques to food and wine pairings. Also included -- a suggested itinerary of locations that Julia visited during her years in Paris.
Located on Diplomat Row (near the U.S Embassy where Paul Child worked for the U.S. State Dept.), Hilton Arc de Triomphe immerses guests in the Art Deco era. Designed to echo the style and luxury of a classic 1930s ocean liner, accommodations feature a flourish of original Art Deco stylings -- Macassar ebony furniture with inlay detail, doors made from Rio rosewood, and rich fabrics infused with purple and geometric patterns. The boudoir is separated by a ship’s divider and leads to a proper bathroom with a silk-screen-enhanced glass door allowing for natural light.
The “In Julia’s Footsteps” package is available now through Dec. 13th, 2009 and includes:
· Accommodations
· Hilton buffet breakfast
· Admission for two to short course at Le Cordon Bleu
· Suggested itinerary of Julia locations in Paris – including the shop where she stocked up on her kitchen tools, and the restaurant where she and Paul started their day
Rates for the two-night package start at 709 Euros (about $1,032 U.S.) based on double occupancy. For reservations, call the hotel directly at 011-33-1-58 36 6700 or email reservations.ADT@hilton.com and request the In Julia’s Footsteps package.
