It’s my party and I’ll drink if I want to! This weekend, to celebrate Memorial Day and growing another year older, I will share one of my favorite shot recipes for a nice little blend called the Chocolate Cake Shot! For those of you like me who enjoy an extra treat at the end of a drink AND who are addicted to chocolate, this is a nice pick me up for all you “citrus tooth, sweet tooth” combos out there, or “sweetrus tooth”(who doesn’t love a good word combination...wombination?)

There are many different recipes available out there for a Chocolate Cake Shot, but they generally include vodka (it’s very nice with a personal fave vanilla vodka in particular), Frangelico (which is a Hazelnut Liqueur), and a piece of lemon that you coat with sugar. That’s it. Easy peasy!

First you have to cut your lemon into a wedge that you can really sink your teeth into! Coat the lemon with sugar, or if you are at a bar they may give you sugar packets or a container of sugar to dust the lemon with. Fill your shot glass with equal parts Frangelico and vodka, or if you are more daring you can go heavier on the vodka. Done!

To take the shot, throw back the drink and then take a bite of the sugary lemon. It’s a great ending to a nice little shot, just don’t tell your dentist!! This is a delicious shot that does in fact taste just like a chocolate cake. You can watch my friend Derrick Schommer of EverdayDrinkers.tv test it out on this webisode

Cheers and have a great weekend everyone!
