Fall has fallen. Leaves are turning, the temperature is dropping and pumpkin and apple flavors are mingling their way into many recipes. With the thermometer falling daily, it's time to break out those hot, feel good recipes. One such spirit that will warm you up is Tuaca, an Italian Liqueur from Livorno, Italy. The name comes from the brothers-in-law who re-created an ancient secret recipe, Tuoni and Canepa.
Tuaca is a blend of lemon, orange and vanilla flavors with brandy. It is a beautiful amber color. On the nose is a familiar brandy smell, linked with a sweet vanilla and hint of fruit. Tuaca is sweet and smooth and leaves a nice taste on the palate. With a suggested retail price of $24.99 and an abv of 35%, you can find Tuaca at 67 Liquor Shop and Astor Wines and Spirits.
The kind folks over at Brown-Forman delivered a sample, along with a great recipe booklet and bartending guide. A delicious cocktail to mix with Tuaca that they recommend to get you in the mood for the season is the Tuaca Hot Apple Pie. So simple to make and tastes delicious, this is a great hit for those with a bit of a sweet tooth who cherish Fall. Cheers!
