Duane Friesen, an employee at the American Airlines maintenance base in Tulsa, Oklahoma, organized a bicycle donation drive through the AA Bicycle Club.  On Tuesday, Duane collected bikes at the main gate all day long.  By the end of the afternoon, he'd gathered over one hundred bicycles of all types!

Two trailers hauled them to the Tulsa Hub, a local cooperative dedicated to bicycling education, maintenance, and more.  The usable bikes will be refurbished as part of the Community Cycling Project, an outreach program that provides bicycles and bicycling education to disadvantaged clients.  Coupled with the Tulsa Transit buses equipped with bike racks, the CCP increases the range in which clients can travel, thereby increasing their chances at finding and keeping better jobs.

Duane deserves our heartfelt thanks for volunteering his time organizing this donation effort.
