This year, so far, I've quite enjoyed the musings Sons & Daughters, the Glaswegian-band that got some early US play in 2003 touring with Franz Ferdinand, and some more in 2006 with Bright Eyes.

If you don’t have Love the Cup (EP) or the Repulsion Box, go run out and grab it. But thier 2008 album, This Gift, is smart, on-point and more grown-up version of the band that came from rockabilly-inspired, Johnny Cash-loving rock.

Anyway, here are the singles, 'Gilt (sic) Complex' and 'Darling.' You can hit play as many times as you like.

Fancy a listen?

Gilt Complex:

Darling:

Band Members:
  • Adele Bethel - Vocals, guitar, piano
  • David Gow - Drums, percussion
  • Ailidh Lennon - Bass, mandolin, piano
  • Scott Paterson - Vocals, guitar
