Heavy schedule Sunday in the No Benjamins League.  See Part II of my rant here.

Manu gets fresh with LeBron's shin as Cavs win big.
Cavs punk Spurs in Cleveland...plenty of no-shows for both teams, as Cleveland put three players in double figures, and the Spurs only two...LeBron's day at the office concluded with 38, 7 and 6, while Delonte West and Mo Money each netted 22...the Z-Man pulled down 10 rebounds, and Joe Smith was the only reserve not to have a donut, going for 7 and 5 in 22 minutes...problem there...Tony Parker notched 24 and 5 assists, and reserve Dwight Gooden registered 15 and 5, but the other four San Antonio starters managed only 26 points...Kurt Thomas had 9 rebounds off the bench...this was a case of the Cavs washing the aftertaste of two lousy road losses out of their mouths at the expense of the Spurs.

Mavs put Suns playoff hopes to rest, deep in the heart of Texas...the magic number is now one for Dallas, which had 81 points in the first half...seven Mavs reached double figures, as follows: Dirk 28, Josh Howard 24, Jason Kidd 19 and 20 assists (!); Jason Terry 18; Brandon Bass 14 and 6; Jose Barea 12 and 5, and James Singleton 10 and 6...mercy sakes...Leandro Barbosa led Phoenix with 24 off the bench, and George Hill started and netted 23 and 6 in 29 productive minutes...Shaq started fast but finished slow, ending up with 14 and 7...from there, it was Alando "Sounds Like Alonzo, With A Head Cold" Tucker with 13, Nash and Goran Dragic (who's not from around here) with 12 apiece, and Jared Dudley with 10...Nash had 8 assists but a -22 rating...it must be tough being a Suns fan these days...they're old, not very good, and facing a difficult offseason.

Pistons outlast Bobcats in Motown...in a season that has seen Detroit morph from perennial contender to old hangers-on, the bright spot has been the emergence of Will Bynum, who led them in this one with 32, 4 and 7 in 26 minutes off the bench...Tayshaun scored 14, Rip Hamilton had 13 points and two technicals, and Rasheed and Arron "Call Me Aaron" Afflalo had 12 apiece...reserve D.J. Augustin led Charlotte with 22, Ray Felton contributed 18, and Diaw and Okafor scored 14 apiece, with Okafor pulling down 16 rebounds...Gerald Wallace was held to 11 points before fouling out...Charlotte is still mathematically alive for the playoffs, but dead otherwise...you have to feel sorry for the Charlottes, Chicagos, Detroits and Philadelphias, clawing and scratching at season's end for the right to get served up to the Clevelands, Orlandos and Bostons of the world... KILL ME!!! NO, DON'T KILL THEM, KILL ME!!!

Knicks work Raptors in Toronto...home-and-home road wins burst both teams' playoff bubbles...the Knicks decided to be unselfish in this one, and it paid off...Wilson Chandler led them with 17, followed by Q Rich and Lunchbucket with 16 apiece, Jared Jeffries with 14, Nate Robinson with 13, and Chris Duhon and Al Harrington with 12 each...Harrington and Lee had 10 boards each, and Robinson delivered 7 assists...Chris Bosh led Toronto with 31 and 14, Don't Call Me Andrea finished with 18 and 7, and Anthony "Not Tony" Parker scored 15...The Player Formerly Known As The Matrix notched 13 and 8, and Jose Calderon finished with 12 points and 6 assists...let's move on.

Rockets hold off Blazers in Houston...Chairman Yao led Houston with 21 and 12, Luis Scola scored 16, and RonRon delivered 15...Aaron Brooks had 14 and Von Wafer 12, while Chuck Hayes erupted for 9 points and 10 rebounds and put the clamps on Lamarcus Aldridge, relatively speaking...Aldridge finished with 22 and 9, and Brandon Roy added 22 and 6 assists...Travis Outlaw had his usual 15 off the bench, but Greg Oden, going up against Mr. Yao, had 4 points and 4 personals in 11 scholarly minutes...despite losing this one, Portland backed into the playoffs as Phoenix lost in Dallas.

Nuggets hammer T-Wolves in Minneapolis...Denver is now the 2nd seed in the West? How is that possible? George Karl is their coach?...Melo led all scorers with 23 and 8, Mr. Big Shot had 17 points, 7 assists and a dunk, and Strong, Like Bull came off the bench for 14...Nene and J.R. Smith scored 12 apiece, and Denver dominated the boards 48-37...reserve Sebastian Telfair led the Wolves with 18, aided and abetted by Circus Carney with 16, Shelden "Big Stiff Draft Bust" Williams with 14 and 12, Ryan Gomes with 13 and Bobby Brown with 12...Mike Miller pulled down 10 rebounds to go with his 7 points and 6 assists...Denver outscored the Wolves 20-9 at the stripe and went 10-for-21 from the arc.

Highlights from Sunday's NBA action
Chauncey Billups dunks for the first time all season as the Nuggets firm up their second place standing in the West, beating the T-Wolves in Minneapolis.
